How did you design this blog?

I created it from scratch. I have a passion for web/graphics design, so it came with the territory.

I had originally managed the blog via WordPress and this design originated on the WordPress platform; however, a friend introduced me to Squarespace and I have since found it to be the best web publishing tool out there. I easily made the switch from WordPress to Squarespace and I have been very happy since.

What is the difference between registering for an account and requesting private access?

Anyone can register for an account at Geek in Heels. By registering, you can subscribe to site updates via email, are identified uniquely when commenting, and gain access to other special site features.

When you request private access, you are requesting access to my Private Posts page. You will not gain immediate access as I will have to approve your request first.

Please do not be scared to request private access! I have made many wonderful friends through blogging and I would love to get to know my readers more! So, just as long as your name or email does not look bogus, I will approve the account.

I logged in but I can't see your private posts. Where are they?

First, make sure that you requested access to the private posts.

If you haven't received notification from me confirming access (and the confirmation email isn't stuck in your spam box), please shoot me an email via the contact form.

After logging in, you can access the protected posts page directly at http://www.geekinheels.com/private-posts/. In addition, you will see a link to Private Posts top navigation pane:

How do I subscribe to updates via email?

First, you must register for an account.

Once you log in, you will notice your name at the top right corner:

Click on your name and a small menu will appear. Select the Subscribe to Page Updates option, and that's it!

Please note that this subscribe option is literal in terms of "Page Updates." For example, selecting this option while on a specific post will not subscribe you to the entire blog. If you want to subscribe to the main blog via email, you will need to select this option while you are on the main page.

You can manage your subscriptions by clicking on your name again selecting Edit Profile.

I cannot subscribe to your private blog via RSS. How do I know when you update?

I have decided not to publish an RSS feed for my private blog (otherwise, it will not be so private!). If you want to be notified of updates, please subscribe to the page updates via email.
