1962 in the US? Wow, Germany is really far behind, I remember playing with it 1988!
The radio actually mentioned what they think will be the "it" toy of the year. It's actually really lame...zhu zhu pets? I have to laugh at the trends of toys...

Apparently, list price for each hamster is supposed to be $7 or $8 each, but wow, they are already at $20-$30! :\
I feel kind of sad that we've moved from inexpensive toys like the Rubiks cube to gaming consoles worth hundreds. :( It's just not the same.
Jenna - I was thinking the same thing when I first saw this list. Even Legos are so much fancier than what we had when we were kids. I really do think that simpler (and often less expensive toys) help foster creativity and free thinking.
